GabellaWoW Forever Guide

The Legacy System

Updated

Legacy is progress shared across your whole Battle.net account. Challenges give you points: levels, professions, PvP, dungeons and raids. You spend them on perks separately on each character, up to 16 points at launch.

65 challenges · 16 points per character · Unlocks at level 25

How to unlock it

  1. 1
    First point

Legacy unlocks with your first point: level 25 on a character, 150 in a main profession (not gathering) or exploring the entire map.

  2. 2
    Window

Hotkey Y or the shield icon in the menu.

  3. 3
    Account-wide

Points are shared by all non-Hardcore characters on the account; each character spends them its own way.

  4. 4
    Limit at launch

No more than 16 points per character. The rest pile up on the account and unlock rewards.

TipAlts aren’t required: a single character without alts can earn up to 29 points, and you only need to spend 16.

Challenges: where to get points

Each challenge gives 1 point. There are 65 of them in six categories.

CategoryPointsFor what
Classes27Levels 25, 45 and 60 on each of the 9 classes
Professions18150, 225 and 300 skill in each main profession except gathering: Alchemy, Blacksmithing, Enchanting, Engineering, Leatherworking, Tailoring
PvP12Ranks 3, 7, 10, 13 and 14; Exalted reputation with each battleground (Alterac Valley, Arathi Basin, Warsong Gulch, Darkspear Islands); weeks 4, 7 and 10 of the seasonal Field of Honor path
Dungeons3The last boss in all dungeons of levels 15–25, 26–45 and 46–60
Raids3Onyxia; all 13 bosses of Hyjal Summit; all 8 bosses of Barrow Deeps
Adventures2The whole world map on one character; the Lord Valthalak quest chain

TipIf level 25 is far off, get a craft to 150: Legacy will unlock sooner. Gathering (herbs, ore, hides) gives no points, but it feeds your craft.

Rewards

Rewards unlock by the total number of points on the account, however you spent them. Collect them from Innkeeper Wiley in Ratchet.
