Day 1: Launch Checklist

Nov 4 in the Americas, Nov 5 in Europe. Launch is at 15:00 Pacific, which is 23:00 UTC.

Forever is included in the WoW subscription, you do not buy the game separately. The Epic Pack and Collection include 30 days of game time, added on launch day.

You need the Battle.net app and 128 GB on an SSD. Older graphics cards will not start the game: check yours against the table.

Agree with your friends in advance. The mode is chosen once, groups form only within a mode, and in PvP an account has one faction.

The tier list compares classes and specs for leveling, dungeons and PvP, based on beta data.

Racial abilities were reworked in Forever. Which race to take for your class on the Alliance and Horde is in a separate guide.

The full name is unique across the whole region. Heroic, Epic and Collection owners can claim up to three names from Oct 27 to Nov 3. Keep two or three backups.

Packs come with Invite-A-Friend codes: with one, a friend plays from Nov 4 to Nov 11 without a subscription. Heroic gives 1 code, Epic and Collection give 3. The codes arrive by email.

Build the party in the group builder and send the link to your friends.

Install CurseForge or Wago App and choose the Forever version. Classic files will not load in Forever.

On first login the game offers a set of settings. The choice screen will not come back, but every setting can be changed on its own.

Your race’s starting zone quests up to level 10. Talents unlock at level 10.

A Cooking campfire becomes a camp, and cooked food gives +5% experience from enemies. A basic campfire only needs the profession learned.

Gathering brings in money and feeds a craft. Pairs for your class are in the professions guide.

The built-in panel for your own cooldowns and buffs instead of WeakAuras. Off by default: Options → Gameplay Enhancement.

Blizzard has not named the release folder. Check the path: the gear next to the Play button in Battle.net → Show in Explorer, addons go in Interface\AddOns.

Open “In game” on your phone or a second monitor: zones for your level, dungeons, a food timer and radio.

Pick up quests together and turn them in at the same time: each player gets full experience for a quest, while experience from enemies is shared.

Dungeons are designed for 5 players: a tank, a healer and three damage dealers. The filter shows what fits your level.

Legacy unlocks with your first point: level 25, 150 in a main profession (not gathering) or the whole world map. The window opens with Y.

Log out in an inn, a capital or on the bedroll: the next evening starts with double experience from enemies. Food, the bedroll and rest stack.
