How to Reserve Your Name in WoW Forever

When and for whom

The reservation is open from Oct 27 to Nov 3 to anyone who pre-purchased the Skyborne Heroic Pack, Skyborne Epic Pack or Warcraft Forever Collection, as a Digital Upgrade or a Collector’s Edition. It works only on the WoW account the pack was bought for.

This is not early access: for now you only create characters and claim names. You can play from launch, Nov 5 at 01:00 Kyiv time.

How to claim a name

1. 1
   Update your drivers

Blizzard recommends starting with up-to-date graphics drivers.

2. 2
   Install Battle.net

Download the Battle.net app from download.battle.net, open it and let it update.

3. 3
   Install Forever

World of Warcraft in the game list → the Game Version menu → World of Warcraft: Forever → Install.

4. 4
   Choose a mode

Press Play and choose a mode. Agree with your friends first: groups form only within one mode.

5. 5
   Create your characters

Up to three characters with the names you want. A created character keeps the name for you.

Name rules

1. 1
   Three characters across all modes

The limit is shared: two PvP characters leave room for just one in Normal or Role-Play. The limit applies only to early name reservation.

2. 2
   The full name is unique

A character has a first name and a surname. The pair must be free across the whole region, not just one realm. A first name can repeat with a different surname, and you can give one surname to several of your characters.

3. 3
The name is checked as a whole

Names may be blocked if they break the code of conduct, pose as Blizzard or the WoW team, or repeat characters. A banned word split between first name and surname will not pass either.

4. 4
   First come, first served

Blizzard does not guarantee any name. Claim a rare one right away and keep a backup surname.
